1. Who We Are and Scope
Hueclip is provided by Hueclip Technology Co., Limited (the “Company”, “we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Hueclip and our website, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. By using the Services you accept this Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us
i) Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive a user identifier and, depending on what you allow, your name and email address (Apple may give us a private relay address). If you sign in with a phone number, we receive that number. If you sign in as a guest, we create an account without a name or email address.
ii) Videos you import. Videos you choose to import from Photos may be uploaded to our servers, and to cloud storage providers acting for us, together with their file name, size, duration and cover image, so that they can be played back and checked for content that breaks our Terms. We only access the videos you pick.
iii) Reports, blocks and feedback. When you report content, block a curator, follow a curator or write to us, we receive what you send, which may include text, screenshots or other attachments, and the identity of the account involved.
Information stored on your device
iv) Your Moods, Markers, Smart Sets, Mood stats and playback settings are stored on your device. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
Information collected automatically
v) Device and app information, such as an app-specific install identifier, device model, operating system version, language, app version, IP address and the time of requests.
vi) Usage and diagnostic information, such as the screens you open, the features you use, and crash and performance reports. We collect this with Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. We do not collect or use your advertising identifier (IDFA).
We do not collect precise location, contacts, health information or payment information. The app does not contain third-party advertising.
3. How We Use Information
i) To provide the Services: sign you in, play your videos, show curators and clips, and keep the Services working across your devices.
ii) To keep the Services safe: review content, handle reports and blocks, enforce our Terms, prevent abuse and fraud, and respond to legal requests.
iii) To improve the Services: understand which features are used, fix crashes and measure performance.
iv) To communicate with you: answer your questions and send service messages about your account or changes to our terms.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing the Services, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where we ask for it.
4. Sharing and Service Providers
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. We share it only:
i) with service providers who work for us under contract, such as cloud hosting, storage and content-delivery providers (for example Alibaba Cloud), and analytics and crash-reporting providers (Google Firebase). They may use the information only to provide their services to us;
ii) with Apple and Google when you use their sign-in services;
iii) with other users, only what you choose to make available: for example, a video you share and its title and cover are visible to the people you share it with;
iv) when the law requires it, or when we believe it is needed to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or the Company; and
v) with a successor, if the Company is part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will tell you and this Policy will continue to apply to your information unless you are told otherwise.
5. Storage, Transfers and Retention
Our servers and our providers’ servers may be located outside the country where you live. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we use appropriate safeguards required by law.
We keep your account information and uploaded videos for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (Me > Settings > Delete Account), we delete your account and the videos you uploaded, and we delete or de-identify the other personal information linked to you, except for information we must keep for security, fraud-prevention or legal reasons, and short-lived backups. Analytics and crash data is kept for a limited period in Google’s systems according to its retention settings.
6. Your Choices and Rights
i) Delete your account: in the app, open Me, tap Settings, then Delete Account. You do not need to email us.
ii) Access, correct or export: you can see and change your account details in the app. You can ask us for a copy of your personal information or for corrections by writing to us.
iii) Photos: you decide which videos to import. You can change the app’s access to Photos at any time in iOS Settings.
iv) Analytics: you can ask us to stop analytics collection for your account by writing to us.
v) Regional rights: depending on where you live (for example the EEA, the UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. We do not discriminate against you for using these rights.
To use any of these rights, email support@hueclip.com. We may need to verify that the request comes from you, and we will reply within the time the law allows.
7. Children’s Privacy
Hueclip is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are under 13 (or the minimum age for consent in your country), please do not use the Services. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under that age, we will delete it. If you believe that a child has given us information, please contact us.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and content review procedures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your sign-in details safe.
9. Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the new version here with a new “Last Updated” date, and for material changes we will tell you in the app before they take effect. The version you are reading is the version in force today.
